Innovation spoof

Not sure where this was going... surely innovative, but usable? Not sure...

The First Sustainable Dance Floor

The word 'sustainable' is often used to mean reducing something. At SDC we want it to mean more! We have developed the Sustainable Dance Floor, a product that captures the energy produced by people and turns it into electricity; the Sustainable Dance Floor. Through movement every person produces energy, and depending on people's weight and activity it will be now 5-10 Watt for the first floor. Thanks to the techniques from TU Eindhoven and Daan Roosegaarde we are able to use that energy.

When you are in a club dancing on the Sustainable Dance Floor, you cannot only feel the energy but you will also experience it. The floor shows different levels, providing unique visual experiences on every energy level, from loading and average, to the maximum level of the evening, ultimate high!

The launch of this unique product will be in Club WATT; the first Sustainable Dance Club worldwide under our label. This club is established in Rotterdam and has opened its doors in September.

Innovation news

Monday Morning Newspaper Picks with Josh
It is monday morning and Joshua has picked up the four free newspapers from the stations and read them to find interesting innovating things in his eyes written down this morning, Sept 15th.

My favorite newspaper is DAG, one of their theme's is about the "probleemjongeren". Youth are getting out of control and something needs to happen. Well now the police is offering these types a 'weekend-away', behind bars of course. With this new campaign the Tilburgse police tries to calm down the streets of problem-types. I like the slogan, and the way they present this solution. They are looking more and more for solutions, in Leeuwarden they already started handing out chocolate since it makes you less aggressive, camera's in Groningen register sound now too, more and more camera's are placed in hot spots and a lot of places in also Gronin
gen are not using glass anymore since it can be used as weapon.
The problem is also mentioned in Metro, Spits and De Pers (including the Gouda incident with Connexxion). And this is because the Tweede Kamer is going to debate on the current youth policies. Also tomorrow during Prinsjesdag it is speculated that funds are going to be opened in that direction.

The DAG also posted this nice kitchen tool. You can put an egg in this to cook it in your pan of water, but at the same time it's a cup for your egg! Never have to get in trouble to get those eggs out of the water, just grab your tool now!

I want to continu with De Pers now, innovation for the ambulances in the Netherlands, we're going to put camera's on it for the safety of our healthcare takers. It has something to do with the thing mentioned above, and we keep on seeing more violence, let's hope these camera's help

The thing that really stuck my innovation senses was the idea what we are going to do with the tunnels from the Noord/Zuid-Lijn. The water is getting more and more in the way and if there is not going to be more billions of investments it's going to be abandoned. Most of the abandoned stations in Ohio, London and Paris are used for large storage for the trains. But they found something for some old subway stations in London en Sidney. London created a large ambient pedestrian tunnel and in another station they build a filmstudio. Sidney used one for mushroom breeding but now they made a unique landscape with ends in a large underground lake.
Now there is already a project going on in an old subway tunnel in Amsterdam which was going to connect to IJburg but soon wil be the new "chocoladefabriek". Also tunfun is created from an old tunnel near Waterlooplein.
So the future for the soon to be abandoned(?) Noord/Zuid-Lijn; a soundproof dance music hall, or if the water is going to flood it anyway, put some canal boats in it and we created a new attraction for tourists to visit!

Some small details, MySpace is going to sponsor a new talent show, the search for new comedians, H&M opened their first store in Japan! My sister would be happy with that. And there is another option besides sellaband for bands that don't have a recordlabel; Unsigned, a project of MCN, Muziek Centrum Nederland in coöperation with Metro.

That's this weeks selection.

Group 3.0

Introducing the group:

Joshua de Jong, blogs under Josh at http://innovation-factor-x.blogspot.com
Jos (info coming)
Koen (info coming)

Meaning of the Name:
I was thinking about a name for our group. We are thinking and blogging about innovations, so something with innovation and with group of 3, since we are with three. So the tagline is something like "Innovation seen through eyes from a group of three." There from I started on a name:
Innov with Three
Innov with 3
INOUGH with 3 (refers to enough, there is enough to blog about)
iNough (like iPod)
iNough 3.0 (like web 2.0)

Concluding our name for the group: iNough 3.0 formatted like the Google Logo.
